Strategic Account Specialist -West Company Overview The Primal Pet Group includes manufacturers of fully prepared, human-grade raw foods, treats, and supplements for dogs and cats. Job Summary This position engages directly at headquarter level with Primal Pet Foods’ top Regional Key Accounts to ensure strategy alignment and execution, accelerate category growth, and strengthen the long-term health and viability of the account partner. This is achieved by leveraging all the retail support tools Primal offers, drawing from the talents of the entire Primal team to support initiatives, and fluently articulating the strategic advantages of Primal’s product line to brick & mortar retail accounts. Responsibilities and Duties Directly manages top Primal Pet Foods Regional Key Account Partners as assigned by Primal Pet Foods. Delivers growth and positive relationships with all Key Account Partners. Identifying account-specific strategic initiatives and preparing materials to support implementation for planning sessions. Identifies areas of mutual alignment and maximizes efforts to achieve collaborative goals. Consistently collaborates with Primal Training Manager to ensure cohesive and comprehensive implementation of education initiatives both at Account HQ and Retail level. Develops comprehensive understanding of all Primal Tools and Assets for most effective deployment in specific situations. Problem solves varied account requirements to deliver effective execution of programs consistent with account and Primal Pet Foods processes and timelines. Leverages market trends and company data to support space gains and implementation of promotional concepts. Oversees individual annual account plans including regular reporting and forecasting on growth potential and account changes. Leverages key learnings at individual accounts to improve performance, sharing relevant info across management team to benefit overall sales team performance. Diligent management of budgets to ensure growth at an effective and efficient spend rate. Use and continually develop leadership skills. Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency. Other duties as assigned by Director of National Key Accounts. Special Requirements This is a Remote position. Ability to travel up to 50% of schedule. Ability to travel up to 50% of schedule by air. Availability to work nontraditional hours including some Sundays and evenings based on operational need. Supervisor Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities Qualifications and Skills Strong MS Excel skills – receiving and manipulating data independently to generate fact based and persuasive presentations. Strong Organization & Time Management Skills – must manage time effectively, ensuring retail partners all feel as though they are your number 1 priority. Excellent Communication Skills – must be able to communicate most important thoughts concisely and rapidly to team members and accounts via multiple mediums. Prioritization Skills – must have the ability to assign urgency to topics which optimize communication opportunities with accounts and team members. Logical Thinker – must be able to look forward and see the logical progression of events that will lead to the best outcomes. Demonstrated ability to multitask and organize multiple priorities Strong communication skills, both oral and written and strong managerial skills inclusive of good judgment, planning, organizing, innovative approach to problem solving. Ability to collect and organize data, perform comparative analysis, and bring forward recommendations and conclusions. Intermediate to Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook High school diploma. Ability to perform job duties independently and responsive during agreed upon business hours in a remote capacity Ability to prioritize and follow-through to achieve results and meet deadlines to meet the needs of the business. 5 years previous Sales experience in the Pet or Natural Foods industries preferred. Clear history of delivering growth with a Headquarter Managed account base. Proficient in Microsoft Office/Windows environment, word processing, spreadsheets, email and web-enabled applications.
