Title: Desktop Support Analyst
Location: Fremont, CA
Contract to Hire

As a Desktop Support Analyst, you will be responsible for computer technical support for all end-users including hardware and software issues. This person will report to the IT Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems; determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority, and nature
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices, phones, and other computer and telecommunications equipment
  • Create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop team function
  • Participate in hardware and software reviews
  • Maintain inventory of installed software, manage software licensing and create policies and procedures for upgrades (Ensure software licensing laws are followed)
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensure that new equipment is installed and ready to operate on schedule
  • Analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization
  • Maintain Documentation for IT issues
  • Follow IT Manual guidelines
  • Analyze and troubleshoot issues with desktop computers and their applications
  • Patiently track down issues and problem-solve the solutions
  • Practice good IT disciplines
  • Manage helpdesk tickets and ensure they are resolved in a timely manner
  • Assist with preparing monthly IT reports as requested
  • Sustain quality service by enforcing organization standards
  • Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences, and back-out instructions including Training Material
  • Other various duties as assigned
    Skills/required
    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
    • IT-related certifications preferred
    • Minimum 3 years of related experience
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems
    • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Office 365
    • Familiarity working with IT provided Hardware components preferred
    • Ability to work well with end-users
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to pay attention to small details, analytical problem-solving skills on hardware as well as on software application
    • Excellent teamwork skills
