Job Description:

they are wanting to expand on their ideas and get things moving to

within the AV and EV industry. You---ll be one of the first members
to help shape, build and innovate a company that has big ideas and

and electric vehicle company. This role is based out of the Bay
Area, California. The role they---re currently hiring for is a
Staff Systems Engineer where you will be responsible for ensuring
that the software and hardware elements within the truck work as a
cohesive system. You will accomplish this by establishing the
system architecture, defining redundancy requirements and
standards, and ensuring that the various components and systems
work in tandem to generate the desired outcome. As the team grows,
you may be designated as a subject matter expert and will be asked
to provide guidance to junior team members. The ideal candidate
works well within a diverse team while also being able to operate
independently and deliver projects on time and to specification.
This candidate can solve complex problems by working up from the
engineering fundamentals to develop the best solution, regardless
of what others are doing or have done. With this role being both a
senior and important role to the company itself, the job does have
minimum qualifications and requirements that the ideal candidate
must meet such as a Bachelor---s or Masters in Mechanical or
Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 8 years of
experience as an engineer and 5 years of experience as a Systems
Engineer in a relevant field. Alongside this, the ideal candidate
should have the following as essential skills: Work cross
functionally to understand the problem space and document the
intended objectives Analyze functional objectives and requirements
and align with cross functional teams and suppliers Convert product
specifications into technical specifications for the engineering
team Balance requirements that may conflict to determine an
optimized technical specification Establish a vehicle system
architecture for an autonomous capable, heavy duty truck Analyze
systems and report performance, risk, and issue/opportunity metrics
to management Strong background in survivability, redundancy, and
fallback planning of highly automated systems like autonomous
vehicles, aerospace, space, or robotics Expertise in both software
and hardware architectures Strong documentation skills are required
Ability to leverage data analysis tools to support architecture
