JobResponsibilitiesThis role can be located near any Lam Research office.The Additive Manufacturing Engineer will own technical and professional support to projects emphasizing new and unreleased products. They will also manage and carry out projects for product development/improvement, product quality, and customer support.Be familiar with failure analysis, process development, application flows, particle contamination, material issues, system interconnects, software and controls, and customer points-of-viewCoordinate with other groups and organizations for design, process, test, reliability and manufacturing to solve product issues and production problemsEnsure suppliers' quality performance for consistent and reliable productsConduct design reviews with cross-functional teams (CFT) and stake holders to coordinate development and qualification activities Be a lead advocate for your product across company organizationsAdditive Manufacturing (AM) SpecificResponsibilitiesAct as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and perform R&D on materials and process development for metal, Polymer, or Ceramic AM technologies, industry best practices, and best process solutionsDevelop and Optimize the entire suite of AM processes including L-PBF, DED, BJ, FDM, SLA, etc. Act as SME on electrochemical and corrosion analysis of Materials.Develop and Optimize post-process heat treatments and surface finishing.Work with design engineers to develop recipes in bringing parts from design to production.Provide feedback to design engineers and suppliers to continuously improve the AM part production process.Perform analysis (including 3D Analysis), characterization, simulation, test, and verification of AM hardware as well as AM materials properties and analyze results.Generate and release additive process specifications to control product quality and establish build qualification and product acceptance criteria.Work closely with quality engineers in achieving and maintaining AM process and Product qualification.Advise and lead on materials, machines, and process parameters to build parts that meet the Semiconductor requirements.Actively and closely work with multidisciplinary engineers to identify and qualify vendors and suppliers for materials and post-process services.MinimumQualificationsMinimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent experienceWorking knowledge of Statistics Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause-Corrective Action (RCCA), 8D & 5-Whys Problem solvingPrior experience with MS office tools (ppt, excel, project), statistical tools (JMP, Minitab etc.)Previous experience in cross-functional project managementPrevious experience leading technical projectsStrong project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillComfortable with travellingAdditive Manufacturing (AM) MinimumQualificationsPh.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or EquivalentMinimum 2 years of post-PhD related work experienceDemonstrated expertise in additive manufacturing materials and processes development.Demonstrated expertise in electrochemical, corrosion, and surface engineeringAbility to run Design of Experiment (DoE) on process parameter development and direct experience working on the characterization of AM material Hands-on experience on post-printing processes for 3D printed parts, such as heat treatment schedules, surface finishingPreferred QualificationsServed +2 years in an AM related role, specializing in 3D printing operation, especially for semiconductor IndustryAbility to perform in a cross-functional teamKnowledge of AM surface engineeringFamiliar with statistical methods and application of machine learning in material scienceOur CommitmentWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential.
