RoleAs a Security Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of Tesla's physical security systems. You will apply your excellent security systems, IT knowledge and experience to coordinate all aspects of setting up new systems, developing new features & procedures and keeping our systems fully operationalTesla's Security Infrastructure Team is responsible for securing a complex mix of manufacturing, retail, and corporate facilities that provide a variety of physical and technical challenges. This role will be based at our Austin, TX gigafacotry and will provide global support as needed to support Tesla's growth and mission.Up to 30% travel is requiredResponsibilities-- Owns and contributes to end to end lifecycle of Tesla---s Physical security systems-- Works closely with security operations, real estate, production teams, IT, global security, and other internal teams to gather all relevant information for fast-paced, production critical, environments -- Plans, communicates and executes system upgrades-- Maintains solid documentation and communication workflow -- Collaborates with technical security team members to develop security system design and installation plans -- Identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce cost with physical security technology -- Maintain system architecture documentation based on Tesla's technical security standards Requirements-- 5 years of experience designing, installing, and maintaining Security Infrastructure for corporate, manufacturing, and retail facilities -- Expert knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, video management systems, access control systems, and other technical security systems and devices -- Experience with industry standard installation tools and safety practices -- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and navigate through an ambiguous environment; enjoys challenges -- Highly organized, with solid time management skills and acute attention to detail preferred -- Technical security system certifications (I.e. Gallagher, Lenel, Avigilon, Genetec) and/or related IT (i.e. CCNA) certifications preferred -- Global travel required as needed Job Category: Engineering & Information TechnologyLocation: Fremont, CaliforniaReq.
