C3 AI is looking for a Vice President, Product Design located onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, California. As a Vice President, Product Design, you will be responsible for spearheading product design across C3 AI, encompassing both the C3 AI Platform (and associated tools) and C3 AI Applications. In this crucial role, you will champion user experience (UX) and oversee the creation and execution of outstanding UX design for our AI products. Leading the product design team, you will drive UX excellence by leveraging user research and data-driven insights to craft user-centric solutions that boost value capture and promote product adoption. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in designing analytical and/or AI-based software for large enterprises and will have a well-defined perspective on establishing and maintaining clear design principles. C3 AI organizes product design into two functional areas, platform, and applications, and additionally supports a cross-functional design systems team. The candidate will lead each team and has had meaningful product design management experience. You will also evangelize design thinking among internal stakeholders (product managers, engineering, data science, customer-facing teams) and position C3 AI externally as a product design leader for Enterprise AI. You will serve as the primary focal point for C3 AI product design efforts in supply chain, sustainability, defense, plus data science and application development workflows. Responsibilities : • Drive end-to-end product design in support of C3 AI’s strategic vision and drive the process to streamline product and tooling development. • Actively manage and coach a team of product designers to deliver high-impact projects and products. Deliver superior product designs while inspiring, teaching, and supporting the team. • Guide UI component development (familiarity with React.js libraries), and oversee technical integration from design tools like Figma for seamless collaboration between design and development teams. • Collaborate with engineers to implement assets and ensure robust documentation is accessible to C3 AI employees, partners, and customers. • Establish and maintain best practices for design systems and component libraries, ensuring cohesive and efficient UI design across platforms. • Streamline the process of product and customer feedback to the core UI/UX engineering team and prioritize design language improvements. • Own the evolution and ongoing improvement of our product design framework. • Facilitate product design presentations for a broad audience, anticipate and address feedback, develop opinions, and gain alignment on product design efforts. • Engage with C3 AI executives and update design framework and processes to meet emerging customer and internal needs. • Evangelize design thinking throughout the organization and through external channels (thought leadership, blogs, demonstrations, webinars, etc). Qualifications : • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience working with a complex system in the big data, AI, or data analytics field. • MS or Bachelor Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or equivalent areas. • Strong user-centered design process. Prior management of product design teams is preferred. Significant experience in analytics, AI/ML and related data science is a plus. • Strong work ethic and the utmost attention to detail. • Ability to drive projects and processes, working both independently and in team settings. • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including strong executive presence. • Strong problem-solving skills and bias for action. • Time-management and prioritization – you are comfortable simultaneously working across many projects, both collaboratively across diverse teams and self-starting initiatives. • Value self-learning – you habitually further your understanding of relevant areas of interest, such as AI, and design principles. • Full-time in-office work at C3 AI headquarters in Redwood City, CA will be required.
