The platform team at Sentry is responsible for the following infrastructure components:

• Ingestion pipeline: This component ingests billions of events with sub-second latency. The current infrastructure uses a mix of RabbitMQ and Celery. As we scale, we aim to build and maintain a new streaming platform using Apache Kafka. You will collaborate with product and engineering leads to realize this vision.
• Data stores: We primarily use ClickHouse to store and query terabytes of data. With the new analytics platform, you will push the limits of ClickHouse for efficient querying and ingestion. Additionally, PostgreSQL is used for consistency, and Redis for caching. • Build a new analytics platform and expand the Stateful Services Platform for world-class data delivery.
• Architect and automate services and systems to handle scaling demands.
• Make architectural decisions balancing the needs of Product and Engineering teams.
• Maintain and enhance code quality through reviews and design contributions.
• Lead design discussions around team deliverables.
• Improve the accessibility of codebases managed by the Stateful Services Platform.Examples of projects our team has worked on:
  • Strong knowledge of replicated and distributed data storage systems.
  • Experience with Python or similar dynamic languages.
  • Familiarity with systems we leverage, such as [list systems if specified].Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for articulating technical concepts clearly and succinctly.Candidates should be located in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate.The salary range for this position is $175,000 to $215,000, determined by factors such as location, education, experience, and skills.
