Supervisor, Hazardous Waste Operations (Night Shift) Job

The Hazardous Waste Operations Supervisor will reportdirectly to
the Manager, Environmental Operations & Emergency Response aspart
of the Environmental Affairs Team. The Supervisor will have
responsibilityfor the performance of Hazardous Waste Technicians
tasked with the collection,handling, and management of hazardous
waste from Tesla's Bay Area locations.The candidate will be
responsible for ensuring dailyhazardous waste operations comply
with Tesla Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) and federal, state,
and local hazardous waste regulations. The HazardousWaste
Operations Supervisor will also be empowered to identify
continuousimprovement opportunities to reduce business risk as it
relates to wastehandling and disposal costs. What You'll Do
- Supervise duties of hazardous waste operations staff
- Train Hazardous Waste Technicians on proper OSHA
safetyguidelines, State and Federal Regulations pertaining to
Hazardous WasteDisposal, and Department of Transportation
regulations for proper loading,marking, handling, and transporting
of hazardous material containers -
- Conduct risk assessments on hazardous materials and coordinate
storage and handling ofhazardous waste
- Track hazardous and non-hazardous waste generation, storageand
disposal for Tesla as required by local, state, and federal
law
- Create and maintain all records associated with hazardous
wastegeneration including manifests, land disposal restriction
(LDR) notifications,monthly accumulation logs, and inspection
reports
- Prepare hazardous waste inventory for annual HazardousMaterials
Business Plan (HMBP) and Material Inventory Report,
includingupdating Site Maps with waste container locations
- Ensure weekly and monthly environmental complianceinspections
are conducted on all central and satellite accumulation areas
andall records properly organized and maintained
- Implement, monitor, and ensure compliance with Tesla SOPs
- Prepare purchase requests, schedule outgoing wasteshipments,
and review and process vendor invoices
- Create profiles of waste streams with vendors to find themost
efficient and cost-effective option for all generated waste
- Manage hazardous waste profiles, manifests, and disposalrecords
and perform data entry tasks to upload to internal software
trackingtools
- Develop and implement waste minimization plans
- Work with the Environmental Coordinator on projects topromote
proper record keeping procedures and to streamline consistency
acrossBay Area facilities and to ensure all team training is
completed successfullyand within the required timelines
- Track and report out waste metrics and key
performanceindicators (KPIs) to Environmental Managers
- Provide training and coaching to team members, includingwritten
performance reviews and feedback as part of Tesla's
PerformanceAcceleration
- Process Plan for and implement new waste management areas
orcollection points based on new projects or changes to existing
processes orproduction lines
- Prepare quarterly budget forecasting for routine andnon-routine
projects or tasks
- Manage daily pass down activities and ensure propertransition
between work shifts
- Ensure all central and satellite accumulation areas are
keptclean and always organized
- Schedule and perform industrial cleaning tasks for routineand
non-routine projects, including preparing necessary PPE for the
team, andreviewing potential hazards with EHS prior to performing
the work
- Coordinate hazardous material spill response activities aspart
of the Emergency Response Team and ensure incident report is
properlyprepared and documented What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience in Environmental related field inhigh
tech industry or similar environment
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner (CHMP)
and/orCertified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Certification is
a plus, but notrequired
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
- Ability to interface with customers
- Experience with people management is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel,PowerPoint,

Expected Compensation
$84,000 - $222,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards +
benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors,
including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and
experience. The total compensation package for this position may
also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
