Description:
The SR AD, Site (Facilities) Engineering and RE&FM is
end-to-end responsible for all GFE site engineering on the
respective site, e.g., site engineering of processes, factories,
buildings, facilities, infrastructure, and HVAC, etc.
This includes:
- Responsibility for all utilities supporting site
production/business continuity.
- Responsibility for the site businesses by effective operation,
maintenance and adaptations of Buildings, Facilities,
Infrastructure and Utilities in accordance with agreed KPIs and
SLAs and following the global processes and in compliance with
GMP/GEP and local regulations.
- Facility Engineering supporting site utilities and ensuring
uninterrupted support.
- Providing complete and up to date information, e.g., regarding
site level technologies / generated knowledge about HVAC, BMS,
Utilities, etc.
- Managing third party utility operator /service provider vendor
from end to end. The local Head of Site Engineering ensures:
- Implementation & control of a strong safety governance model as
well as a strong safety culture at site level.
- Delivery of site engineering part of CAPEX projects on
site.
- Site compliance with regulatory and BI standards and global
processes and execution of the Site Engineering roadmaps at the
site level. The Real Estate and Facility component of this
positions includes:
- Responsibility for driving and implementing the site-specific
goals with respect to RE&FM with the overarching aim to improve
service quality.
- Accountability for safeguarding effective solution delivery and
performance management for local RE&FM.
- Executing the global/regional strategy and steers the RE&FM
Network at the site level.
- Acting as a first Point of Contact (POC) for customers requests
and solution delivery, in conjunction with the rest of the
incumbents team.
- Accountability for guiding and advising the respective Business
Units counterparts on how to achieve their business strategy from a
RE&FM perspective, including ensuring the adherence to global
and regional standards, and local regulations.
- Site Master Planning including keeping the site master plan up
to date and aligned with CapEx plan. The local Head of Real Estate
& Facility Management ensures:
- The steering of the site-specific RE&FM organization,
adherence to the agreed governance model, adherence to global and
regional standardization guidelines, and development of necessary
knowledge and skills to support sites with high quality
services.
- Fast, agile, and high-quality delivery of site-specific
RE&FM services following common standards.
- Compliance to local and site-specific regulations and
protection of BI's reputation.
- Proactive management of site-specific organizational
risks.
- Implementation & control of a strong safety governance model as
well as a strong safety culture on site.
- Together with the Regional Head of Real Estate & Facility
Management the local Head of Real Estate & Facility Management

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensures the effective operation, maintenance and adaptations of
Buildings, Facilities, and Infrastructure in accordance with agreed
SLAs and following the global processes and in compliance with
GMP/GEP and local regulations.
- Drives and develops budget proposals for the respective site
(consolidate budgets and budgetary needs of Facility Engineers and
Service Managers), report them to the Head of RE&FM GFE Region
and incorporate feedback.
- Regularly reports current state of site management to the Head
of RE&FM GFE Region .
- Responsible for operating costs of buildings and outdoor
facilities, planning and monitoring of related facility services
(e.g., Maintenance, Energy consumption, cleaning, etc.)
- Oversees and steers the implementation / roll out of
site-specific RE & FM organization and continuously optimizes to
maximize value.
- Accountable to execute the translated global/regional
strategies into action plans for the sites.
- Ensures a secure, reliable, and efficient service delivery of
local RE&FM Services.
- Provides counsel, advice, expertise, and knowledge through
his/her teams.
- Accountable for site compliance with standards and global
processes and execution of the Site Engineering roadmaps at the
site level.
- Analysis of site-specific business needs/KPIs and drives the
implementation of standards, KPIs, processes and technologies.
- Assesses need for site-specific or BU-specific adaptations of
global & regional concepts, standards, and processes and
coordinates the approval by Regional and Global Layer.
- Responsible for site GMP/GEP qualification and audit compliance
in all areas of GFE site engineering and RE&FM responsibility.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree within engineering or other related fields.
M.S degree preferred.
- B.S. with twelve-plus (12+) years extensive expertise in
pharmaceutical manufacturing and a proven track record solving
complex technical issues.
- In lieu of twelve-plus (12+) years experience, a Master s
Degree with ten (10) years of pharmaceutical manufacturing
experience.
- Three-plus (3+) years of leadership/management experience
required with demonstrated ability to set vision and direction for
a team including setting expectations, priorities and motivating
for results.
- Management experience in achieving results and managing others
to achieve corporate, site, and departmental goals and
objectives.
- Strategic thinker and motivator and understand what delivers
true value to the business function.
- Strong communication skills in a complex global and
cross-functional/culture environment.
