Summary: With limited supervision, manage all aspects of a Learning
and Engagement department program (e.g., training, engagement,
etc.) toward building a culture of belonging, inclusion, and
development. This role involves strategy, design, and
implementation of organizational development solutions that meet
changing business needs. Primarily, plan, coordinate and execute
programs and activities related to staff and leadership
development, employee training, and employee engagement. Facilitate
learning and engagement initiatives across the organization and
identifies learning and training needs. Analyze organizational
responsibilities, reporting relationships, and work processes to
make recommendations for overall organizational development
strategy and to determine specific program initiatives that need to
be modified or created to achieve organizational objectives and
effectiveness. Develop and administer program evaluations and
provide results to the HR/division management. Embody the practices
of a lifelong learner demonstrating self-initiated professional
learning to inform the Human Resources division of current trends,
best practices, and methods in the fields of employee engagement
and training. Create and deliver supervisory, management, and
non-technical skills employee training or employee engagement
activities. Perform other duties as required. Core Activities:
Develop training content or employee engagement activities in
response to identified organizational needs for a variety of
audiences with a focus on equity, inclusion, and accessibility and
which integrates technology. Lead employee engagement,
relationship-building, team building, and DEI-related activities
across the organization in support of building a culture of
inclusion. Develop and conduct programmatic needs assessments
through employee surveys, focus groups, and employee interviews to
enhance the effectiveness of employee performance, development, and
engagement. Compile and analyze needs assessment data to develop
short- and long-term strategies and makes recommendations to
management. Assess the effectiveness and business impact of
programs and courses through evaluation techniques, provides
periodical reports, refines, and makes recommendations. Communicate
information on programs and activities with a focus on change
management best practices and across a variety of channels for
different audiences. Build relationships and collaborate across
different business areas to plan, prioritize, and lead training
efforts that meet departmental and organizational development
needs. Develop and/or advise others who develop curricula, course
outlines, instructional methods, training aids, manuals, and other
instructional materials and products. Maintain an ongoing
familiarity with best practices and innovations in the fields of
Learning and Development, Employee Engagement, Human Resources,
Organizational Development, and Program Evaluation to continuously
improve and enhance programs and share with colleagues Serve as a
Human Resources ambassador providing excellent customer service
that centers on relationship and accountability, taking ownership
in creating an outstanding first contact and ongoing relationships
for our employees, managers, and leaders. Participate in DEI
Committee activities which may include acting as a DEI Committee
member or Focus Team member and incorporates DEI objectives and
practices in all projects and programs. Assist in budget
preparation and tracking for learning and engagement programs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Advanced degree in
Education, Communication, Instructional Design, or SHRM/CPLP in
Human Resources, or equivalent combination of education, training,
and experience 5 years of relevant experience preferably in
Instructional Design and Technology/Design/Adult Ed/Organizational
Behavior or Employee Engagement Experience designing and
implementing effective programs Proven ability to utilize program
evaluation techniques and tools, and analyze data Excellent verbal,
written communication, and editing skills 3-5 years experience in
program management Adept with a variety of learning technologies,
communication channels, and multimedia platforms and methods
Competent in Project Management and ability to utilize project
management software Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google
Suite, Zoom platform, web-based learning and communication tools.
Proven ability to establish strong networks and relationships
within an organization Understanding of general Human Resources
programs and practices Proficient in the Aquarium's core leadership
competencies A high degree of versatility and ability to prioritize
and coordinate a variety of projects and programs and interact with
diverse learning audiences and workgroups Experience modeling
transparent communication, self-awareness, and accountability,
working collaboratively, listening with curiosity, and working
iteratively Proficient in the Aquarium's core leadership
competencies Ability to work within, and maintain Monterey Bay
Aquarium's Core Values Annual Compensation Range Minimum:
$78,200.00 USD annually. Starting rate will vary based on previous
experience and relevant skills/knowledge set.EducationPreferred:
