We provide our global teams with the resources needed to achieve individual career goals while helping to take science a step beyond by developing solutions for some of the world's toughest challenges, like protecting the environment, making sure our food is safe or helping find cures for cancer.Location/Division Specific InformationRemote / Analytical Instruments Group, Instrument and Enterprise ServicesHow will you make an impact?The Procurement Manager will direct and guide the procurement department in providing components and materials meeting both internal and external customer needs as well as regulatory compliance requirements.What will you do?Establish systems and plans ensuring the purchase and acquisition of the highest quality products to exceed customer requirements.Manage and direct procurement personnel through training, annual performance reviews and daily feedback.Manage procurement personnel activities to obtain materials, services for various departments.Establish employee performance guidelines, set goals and objectives ensuring both parties have a clear understanding of expectations.Identify training needs (e.g. DRP training, process escalations) by evaluating employees' knowledge, skills and abilities against the needs of the job and identifying gaps where training is the solution.Develop annual budget recommendations supporting procurement activities keeping in line with company goals and budget guidelines to outline all projected financial needs for the upcoming year.Monitor procurement budget regularly analyze expenditures and personnel expenses and identify/act on savings opportunities to lower expenses and increase profitability.Identify measures to improve Procurement processes by analyzing current practices and industry standards and recommending changes to ensure that processes are evaluated and improved.Keep abreast of the US and non-US regulations affecting own area of management and comply with those regulations.Initiate changes to department practices and procedures to support compliance requirements.Ensure with Category Management that the business has necessary supplier contracts.Ensure buyers communicate on a regular basis with Production, Planning and Receiving - to ensure timely and accurate work orders, material transfers, material disposition processing and timely processing of material movement transactions and adjustments.Monitor buyer metrics and correct as needed through RCCM.Ensure the buyers obtain quotations examine bids, and awards (as needed).As needed, work with Sourcing and Category Managers to identify new vendors and in develop new supply sources.Write and/or modify procedures for the Procurement Department formulating the procedure to document guidelines for ensuring operating efficiency.Accountable for developing the savings goals (PPV or delta P) and achieving the goals.How will you get here?EducationBS/BA degree is requiredExperienceA minimum of 3+ years required/ 5-7+ years preferred of experience in the diagnostic, medical device, biotech or pharmaceutical industry.5-7+ years supervising others in a procurement or materials environment required.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesProcurement training including working towards or having received certification as an APICS, CPIM, CIRM, or CFPIM preferred.Our Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
