Description:Boehringer Ingelheim Fremont is the rapidly growing US arm of Boehringer Ingelheim's Biologics Business Unit. Responsible for the procurement of commodities through the development and implementation of commodity strategy plans and the management of supplier relationships. Other areas of responsibility include price negotiation, planning, production, inventory Management and control, material release strategies to meet site Demand and production planning interface to ensure seamless plan execution. Business-driven Management of Capacities, balancing risks and opportunities of a robust internal and external supply network including end to end supply chain management are key roles of the SR Manager, Procurement.Responsibility for the Life Cycle Management of materials, expiry, obsolescence and key performance indicators to the area. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employeesDuties & Responsibilities/:Ensure supply chain responsiveness to customer requirements (CUB, NBE, CMB and Biosimilars) with respect to materials planning and supply based on contractual obligations during the life cycle of commercial products.Focus on costs and efficiency, to remove bottlenecks and to ensure uninterrupted supply.Implement procurement strategy and policies, Forecast procurement needs, Develop and implement KPI's. Build and develop relationships with key suppliers, establish Cost Improvement Strategies.Support and ensure successful hand over of projects to commercial production from Project Management to SCM and being responsible for the launch phase as a Life Cycle process owner to materials.Supports Project Lead in all Vendor and Material related issuesOversight of Life Cycle activities in procurementActive contribution to projects of all Biopharma businesses as team member SCM. Lead sub team SCM (coordination of material availability, lot release cycle, material supply and logistics)Manage MRB process at site. Monitor KPI trends in MRB, ensure visibility of key Data Integrity Metrics and manage trends that could represent potential risks.Ensure adequate KPI SCM reporting based on the defined KPIs. Adjust KPI levels according to the market/customer needs.Reporting of all project activities. Ensure involvement of Logistics as required. Ensure comprehensive support of ongoing projects for all Mfg areas as required.Contribute with Purchase Order forecast to a warehouse for Space / Utilization ManagementEnsures quality and compliance in all actions for self and employeesAttends GMP trainings and meets LOS trainings on the schedule designated.Adheres to strict compliance with procedures applicable to the role.Exercises the highest level of integrity in the tasks performed.Embraces a behavior of employee involvement and commitment to doing the job right the first time.Ensures employees under the scope of responsibility are trained in required procedures for the execution of their role and maintains current with training requirements during the year.Promotes an environment of employee involvement in the workplace.Seeks prompt identification, reporting and correction of deviations.Assures job descriptions, individual goal setting and performance reviews are promptly discussed with employees.Assures trainings in the assigned tasks have been delivered prior to execution.Sets the main objectives of the department in alignment with Department and site Objectives.Challenging employees to develop as leaders while serving as a role model and mentor.Assisting with performance calibration/talent pool management/succession planning,Ensure effective utilization of resources by creating robust employee development, performance management, succession planning, and rewards and recognitions practices within Supply Chain.Motivate, retain and develop key employees. Build and sustaining employee engagement by creating an environment where individuals and teams can excel.Ensure continuous progress in Bios/ Business Process Excellence including "BI change transformation"-- - within the supply chain teams.Plan, coordinate & optimize change processes from supply chain perspective based on customer requests, supplier chain notifications, and regulatory requirementsEnsure adequate inventory management.Define inventory objectives for the teams in accordance with the global/local Biopharma targets.Monitor inventory trends and analyze unexpected developments and deviations from the defined objectivesDefine adequate action to meet the defined objectivesRequirements/:Local candidates only.Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Economics from an accredited institution required; Master's Degree from an accredited institution preferredFour to six (4-6) years of leadership experience in leading employees and leading projectsExperience in working in a matrix organization as a interdisciplinary function. Strategic thinking and implementation from strategy to business.
