Associate Director, BIO PMO - 2013601 Boehringer Ingelheim Fremont is the rapidly growing US arm of Boehringer Ingelheim's Biologics Business Unit. We are a fully integrated biologics operation with over 500 scientist and specialists, covering cutting edge early- to late stage CMC development, clinical and commercial drug substance and drug product manufacturing, medical device assembly for combination products and packaging operations. We are continuing our rapid growth, investing over $200m into the expansion of our capacity and capabilities, and creating approximately 200 new jobs. Driving this growth is an exciting pipeline of multiple Boehringer Ingelheim novel biologic entities (NBEs) and biosimilars, as well as, a growing diverse portfolio of therapeutics we develop and manufacture for other leading pharma and biotech companies. This includes multiple commercial product launches planned over the next couple of years, for which we can tap into Boehringer Ingelheim's unique experience of having brought 30+ biologics to market globally. Whether we work on our own products, help partners to bring their products to market or innovate new technologies and approaches - Everything we do, we do to help patients!-- #LI-MS1 *I-SF1 PDN1 Description: BIO PMO oversees, manages and steers product launch preparation, launch execution and life cycle activities and thereby ensures on a strategic level the integrated management of biopharmaceutical products with the focus on launch, sustainable success and profitability. It covers all commercial biopharmaceutical products, and all strategic product aspects, e.g. safety, quality, supply chain design, production, risk, regulatory aspects, sourcing & outsourcing, cost and product budget, investments and cost-benefit analysis and crisis management. The key accountability is overall product ownership and oversight for selected biopharmaceuticals by cross-functionally aligning all product relevant topics, leading cross-functional teams, coordinating cross-functional collaboration, drive product related decision making, representation and communication of the product to internal and external stakeholders. Key deliverable is to prepare product launch and establish a product maintenance optimization strategy and link it to the BI-PM strategy. Duties & Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive cross-functional Product Management for selected commercial BI biopharmaceuticals products throughout the entire value chain, covering all strategic product aspects, e.g. safety, quality, supply chain design, production, risk, regulatory aspects, sourcing & outsourcing, cost and product budget, investments and cost-benefit analysis and crisis management. Establish, lead and coordinate the Product Team Operations. Represent the product as primary contact to internal and external stakeholders incl. senior management and decision making committees. Oversee the product related communication and manage consistent messaging. Establish and continuously improve processes, systems, organizational structure and collaboration. Oversee, monitor and manage the assigned products (routine). Assess product related risks and initiate / implement appropriate risk mitigation actions and strategies. Ensure alignment of supply chain strategy (routine) with regulatory / legal requirements. Manage product related changes efficiently and ensure sustained market supply. Develop the product maintenance optimization strategy, assess, identify & initiate potential improvements of product design, manufacturing process and cost. Identify critical topics, propose and initiate operational and strategic tasks to achieve improvement. Requirements: Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Biology and/or Chemistry required. Master or Doctoral degree preferred. One to three (1-3) years of experience leading projects and international exposure in daily business required. Professional experience in leading cross-functional strategic tactical/ operational projects. Working experience in continuous process improvement and project management preferred. Experience in multicultural environments. Multi disciplinary pharma industry experience in international environment. Extensive knowledge about business/functional strategies, processes, and organizational structures within Biopharmaceuticals & Operations including steering committees and decision-making processes. Knowledgeable about interdisciplinary processes and systems. Intense knowledge of regulations and processes (i.e. development of products, pharmaceutical production, controlled substances, environmental and safety, etc.), overall risk of operations and a dynamic process driven development & GMP production environment. Broad technical and business knowledge and with proven ability to engage, motivate, and develop the teams and the workforce. Strong project leader with capability to excel in teamwork including integration of stakeholders within international, cross-functional matrix structures. Professional experience in leading cross-functional strategic tactical/ operational projects. Excellent analytical, strategic and innovative thinking ability and strong business judgment. Influencing, relationship building, and effective facilitation and change management skills. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with management and employees and contribute to all aspects of the organization. Able to energize and motivate a team. Assertive and persistent. Able to illustrate complex issues and to evaluate them critically as well as to navigate a goal-orientated decision process. Planning and organizational skills. Able to professionally present to steering committees and key stakeholders. Able to manage a number of work streams simultaneously. Financial savviness. Compliance & Regulatory savviness. Project management and leadership skills, leading & coaching skills are essential. Ability to build strong trusting relationships and build credibility quickly. Respect in different cultures and diversity. Solution and customer focus. Strong team player. Good software knowledge (MS Office, Project Management Tools). Willing to travel Eligibility Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction. Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).
