Job Description:
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical
Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent
practical experience. 3 years of experience designing mechanical
components such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies,
printed circuit boards, or flexes. 3 years of experience using
computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as 3D MCAD, NX, Creo, or
Solidworks. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Mechanical
Engineering, Product Design, or a related field, or equivalent
practical experience. 3 years of experience in consumer product
design. Experience shipping multiple consumer products. Experience
in system integration, including electro-mechanical components
(audio, display, camera, antenna, etc.), waterproofing, thermals,
grounding, or product architecture. Experience collaborating with
suppliers around the world on part manufacturing and final
assembly, including onsite factory support. Experience with
multiple manufacturing methods used in consumer products. About the

delivering the world's most helpful wearable experience. The team
works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through
some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and
experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing
together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software,
and hardware to build global hearables and create transformative
experiences for users across the world. As a Product Design
Engineer, you will design the next generation of Pixel Earbuds. You
will drive the design, analysis, and prototyping of new concepts
while working in a manufacturing and product-oriented development
environment. You will demonstrate creative problem-solving and
design skills, clear communication, and a solid base of engineering
fundamentals. With your organizational skills, you will help manage
varied responsibilities across the product. You will work in a
Product Design team that balances comfort, performance, and
appearance in an innovative and harmonious design that complements
and enables the technology. You’ll collaborate with external
vendors and internal cross-functional teams such as Electrical
Engineering, Antenna, Industrial Design, Reliability, Operations,
and Audio to define and deliver excellent products. The Platforms
and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software
platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as
well as our first party devices and services that combine the best
of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area
research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's
interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building
innovative experiences for our users around the world. The US base
salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 bonus
equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level,
and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by
work location and additional factors, including job-related skills,
experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can

subsystem or multiple moderately complex individual parts from
concept to production. Collaborate with suppliers of subsystems or
individual parts throughout the design and manufacturing process.
Identify the root cause of design, manufacturing, or reliability
issues and develop corrective actions. Balance design
considerations such as functionality, sustainability, reliability,
human factors, manufacturability, and aesthetics.
