As an Equipment and Calibration Engineer you will LEAD by..........

  • Being a strategic contributor to the design and development of both new & existing assets and processes under the direction of the Technology Manager for the Temperature Sensing Engineering team.
  • Providing mechanical and electrical design from initial concept to testing and final release for manufacturing processes of both intermediates and final products, such as deploying the Tube draw machine, developing, and optimizing the process for the manufacturing of Precious Metal tubes for industrial application and supporting the manufacturing on production campaign and in sourcing the right tools according to business needs.
  • Contributing to the design, development, and implementation of new Temperature Sensing calibration equipment and methods devices for product validation (Thermocouples, RTD's, Temperature indicators, intermediates products) and supervise all laboratory activities such as:
    • Equipment maintenance program
    • Instrumentation calibration program
    • Software release
    • Calibration methods validation
    • Training of calibration operators
    • Designing new products using internal tools, define manufacturing processes and procedures in conjunction with the Production team and will support quality team in defining QA process and procedures to make sure the final products are in spec and in line with final application requirements.
    • Supporting sales for material characterization and failure analysis.
    • Working on a regular basis deal with tight demanding timelines for business-critical development projects and manufacturing issues. The timelines will be driven by need to meet internal and external customer demands and business objectives.

      --- BS Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience.
      --- One to Three years engineering experience required, Three to Five preferred.
      --- Experience with mechanical design, set up and validation of new products, set up and validation of new processes, validation of calibration methods, software release, hardware maintenance programs required.
      --- Experience with failure and root cause analysis, material characterization, implement permanent corrective actions and drive continuous improvement (lean, six-sigma).
      --- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical fundamentals together with product/process design and validation procedures including test methods and equipment.
      --- Experience with 2D/3D mechanical design (i.e. AutoCad, SolidWorks) and develop mechanical components for Thermocouples and related products.
      --- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
      --- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment with little supervision.
      --- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
      --- Familiarity with noble metals, laser welding of noble metal thermocouple is considered a plus.

        BASF is committed to pay transparency practices. The competitive Pay Range for this role is $80,000 $110,000. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
