Job Description:
The Role
The successful Equipment Engineer candidate will gain broad-based
industrial maintenance experience, encompassing Electrical/PLC,
Robotics, Mechanical, Welding, Machining, Hydraulics/Pneumatics,
Conveyor systems, etc. Must be willing to tackle whatever technical
challenge presents itself and be willing to assist and learn from
others in their areas of expertise.
Responsibilities
---Develop the manufacturing equipment and processes.
---Work with cross-functional teams throughout the entire product
and process lifecycle.
---You will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Controls,
Quality and Production to take the equipment into the full capacity
production requirements, with new equipment and update existing
equipment designs to meet new production needs.
---Track OEE and Unplanned Downtime and measures to improve week to
week and quarter over quarter.
---Identifying the constraints of the system and creating
objectives and plans to rectify and add reliability.
---Develop equipment specifications for upgrade and capacity
planning.
---Work on Vendor selection processes to help develop the projects
that will bring the P&F system up to the capacity required and
OEE required for future SP operations.
---Project Planning of new installations of P&F equipment.
---Develop/improve training and spares programs for equipment,
current and new.
---Develop/Improve on Preventative and Predictive maintenance
documentation, schedule and have published on Flux.
---Supporting new model / equipment launches as required.
---Design manufacturing equipment and fixtures, details and jigs
for repair, testing
---Drive design for manufacturability new concepts on auxiliary
equipment i.e. lifters, carriers, robots.
---Collaborate with small teams on in-house development of
continuous improvement initiatives and KPIs.
---Closely collaborate with external equipment integrators on
custom conveyance upgrades.
Requirements
---BS Degree on Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or
equivalent relevant experience (Other Technical Disciplines are
also encouraged to apply)
---Experience with multiple new equipment installations
---Experience with multiple new product startups
---5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
---Experience developing manufacturing equipment for new and unique
products
---Experience transitioning equipment or fixtures from prototype to
production
---Strong mechanical fabrication and machine shop skills/knowledge
preferred.
---Controls experience including PLC programming knowledge
preferred
---Experience introducing new equipment and new processes into a
production environment (APQP is a plus)
---Extensive project management experience
---Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
