The Role
Do you have a passion for accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy? Tesla is seeking a Commercial Field Service Technician to support operations at Tesla's Fremont Factory. As a Fremont Factory Commercial Service Technician, you will report to the Field Manager and provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance services to Tesla's energy products including but not limited to:

• Electric Vehicle Charging Stations
• Industrial Storage Batteries The Energy Service team is responsible for the ongoing success of Tesla's class leading fleet of energy products. As part of our team, you will be empowered to work across the entire Tesla organization to solve problems and ensure the success of our Commercial Energy Field Service execution. Working cross-functionally with other Field Service Technicians and Electrician counterparts, Environment and Operations personnel, Health and Safety, and Field Service Leadership teams, you will leverage your hands-on knowledge and experience to ensure a positive customer experience and exceptional performance of Tesla's Commercial Energy products.
  
  Responsibilities
  What You'll Do
  • Perform required preventive maintenance activities on Tesla Superchargers and Industrial Battery Storage Products in Fremont Factory
  • Respond to corrective maintenance cases on commercial energy storage systems and vehicle charging stations, updating online case logs accurately
  • Work closely with members of the Operations, Logistics, Engineering, and Systems Reliability team to respond to open case directions and provide data where requested.
  • Report writing, where required, to comply with deliverables in commercial O&M contracts
  • Ensure the tooling, electronics, software, and company issued property are well-kept.
  • Maintain sufficient inventory to maintain high availability of Supercharger and Industrial Storage equipment.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and owner of special projects and issues for Energy products within Fremont Factory
    
    Requirements
    What You'll Bring
    • Flexibility to work on weekends and/or overtime along with Tesla's critical mission. This position will require availability with weekend coverage (for example Saturday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday ).
    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum 5 years maintenance or electrical experience
    • Electrical trades experience within troubleshooting power electronics and low voltage controls
    • Previous experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, isolation meters and multimeters
    • Experience navigating numerous computer applications and technology independently
    • Must be able to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, lift at least 50 pounds frequently
    • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and an acceptable and safe driving record Preferred Qualifications
      • Familiarity with servicing, maintaining, and battery storage or electric vehicle charging stations
      • Previous OSHA safety and heavy equipment training
      • Certifications and/or previous training in renewable energy, solar electric design
      • Understanding of various programming languages and equipment networking
      • Valid State Certified Electrician card (Joureyman/Masters)
