Mission Bay Montessori is a small home based Montessori program in San Francisco Mission Bay / SOMA near the Caltrain. The school caters to 6 - 8 children in the class room ages from 2 1/2 to 5 years. The program is guided by an AMI certified Montessori teacher and currently seeking an Assistant Montessori Teacher. The classroom is fully equipped with a complete set of Montessori materials and it will be a great opportunity for a candidate who is currently in Montessori training. The school is also currently working on an expansion in San Francisco and there will be future growth opportunities in the new school for the right candidate. This is a part time role with 4 to 6 hours a day usually 9.30 - 1.30 or 9.30 - 3.30. The candidate is also expected to work full day(s) occasionally with prior notice. Job duties: - Maintain clean and safe Montessori class room environment for the children - Assists teacher during class time by redirecting children to work and aiding children who need help - Assist children in Art projects - Walking children to the local park and supervise children on the playground - Provides direct instruction and/or remedial help as directed by the teacher - helps children to work cooperatively in an atmosphere of respect, using models of behavior and intervention demonstrated by the teacher - Reports accidents and concerns immediately to the teacher - Works with teacher to learn about philosophy of Montessori to further understand the goals of the class and the school - Inform the lead teacher of any classroom difficulties, including discipline, health, equipment needs, repair and maintenance. - Be professional and positive in all dealings with children and parents. - Allow the children to be as independent as possible and try not to be an obstacle in their growth. - Changing diapers and assist children in the toilet and with potty training - Light meal prep during lunch Job Requirements: - 12 ECE units - At least 1 year of experience working at a Montessori School - Eligible to work in the US - Willing to do live scan background check - Familiarity with the Montessori approach to education is preferred, but not required - Valid negative TB test taken within last 12 months and updated vaccination records - Fluency in English (Ability to speak another language is a plus - Preferably Mandarin or Spanish) Pay: Hourly ($18 - $20) Paid national holidays For immediate consideration, Please email to info@missionbaymontessori.com
