Job Description Job Description ABOUT THE ROLE Burton Design &
Construction LLC (BDC) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated
Junior Accountant to join our growing, fast-paced residential
construction firm. This role supports accurate job costing, timely
vendor and subcontractor payments, and consistent financial
processes across all active projects and internal operations. The
Junior Accountant works closely with our Sr. Accounting Lead and
cross-functional team members to ensure financial information is
entered correctly, documentation is complete, and reporting is

priorities move quickly, we want to meet you. WHAT YOU’LL DO The
Junior Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations,
including job cost coding, accounts payable processing,
subcontractor invoice support, weekly reporting, and month-end
close activities. This role helps maintain accurate financial
records across BuilderTrend and QuickBooks Online, enabling project
teams and leadership to make informed business decisions. You will
be expected to proactively identify missing documentation, coding
discrepancies, and process gaps—and communicate clearly to resolve
issues quickly. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Accounting Operations & Job
Costing Enter and maintain project financial transactions
(receipts, bills, purchase orders) in BuilderTrend and QuickBooks
Online Ensure all expenses are coded correctly to the appropriate
project, phase, and cost category Process and track project
receipts and supporting documentation Maintain accuracy of all
entries to ensure reliable reporting and job costing Accounts
Payable / Subcontractor Support Process subcontractor invoices and
ensure required supporting documentation is complete and compliant
Assist with accounts payable processing, including verifying
coding, documentation, and payment readiness Review vendor
statements and help resolve discrepancies to support timely
payments Support vendor communication and follow-up as needed
Accounts Receivable Support Assist with maintaining and processing
accounts receivable tracking and follow-up Support accurate
documentation and recordkeeping for customer payments and billing
items Reporting & Close Support Assemble weekly reporting for
project and financial tracking Support month-end tasks and
reporting, including reconciliations and close-related deliverables
Assist with year-end close activities and documentation requests as
needed Analyze company and project financials for potential issues,
trends, or areas for improvement Vendor Management, Compliance &
Documentation Maintain vendor files including W-9s, insurance
certificates, licenses, and other required documentation Support
workers’ compensation reporting and audit requests Assist with
maintaining departmental budgets and financial tracking as
requested Maintain organized digital and physical files to support
audit-ready documentation General Responsibilities Maintain strong
organization, attention to detail, and follow-through across all
assignments Communicate clearly and professionally with internal
teams and external partners Prioritize workload effectively while
meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Perform other duties

reputation POSITION REQUIREMENTS Minimum Qualifications 3 years of
accounting, bookkeeping, or related finance experience Construction
industry experience strongly preferred Strong organizational,
analytical, and problem-solving skills High level of reliability,
integrity, and professionalism Ability to work independently with
minimal supervision and proactively seek out information
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment with
competing priorities Strong communication skills with the ability
to work effectively across teams Technical & Systems Skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
Experience with QuickBooks Online required Experience with
BuilderTrend Financials is a strong plus Comfortable learning and
following standardized processes and systems ABSOLUTE MUSTS
Excellent communication skills and ability to ask questions and
speak up when clarity is needed Fluent in spoken and written
English Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
EDUCATION High school diploma or GED required Additional education
or certifications in accounting, finance, construction management,
operations, or business are a plus COMPENSATION & BENEFITS This is

You will report to the Sr. Accounting Lead, who oversees accounting
operations and helps ensure consistency, alignment, and financial
accuracy across the organization. LOCATION & TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS
Primary office: Los Gatos, CA BDC is an in-office culture and
values team members who come to the office to collaborate,
communicate, and learn from each other. Core hours are 8:00 AM –
5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Travel may occasionally be required
