This is an excellent opportunity for a recent college graduate with an accounting or business degree.Purpose of the RoleThe Accounts Payable Clerk is an integral member of the accounting team. He/she will be responsible for processing invoices received for payments, petty cash, and employees' expense reimbursement reports for NeoLife. Key ResponsibilitiesInclude, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet business needs.

  • Process accounts, freight payable, and invoices.
  • Process Employee expense reimbursements.
  • Prepare A/P weekly checks run.
  • Process manual checks as needed.
  • Process, replenish and record Petty Cash transactions.
  • Match accounts payable checks with supporting documents.
  • Prepare journal entries as required for accruals, coding errors, etc.
  • Reconcile outstanding accounts payable with the general ledger.
  • Reconcile unvouchered receipts to the general ledger.
  • Maintain Vendor Master Maintenance File.
  • Perform A/P check reconciliation.
  • Process yearly 1099.
  • Maintain the following files:
  • Accounts Payable check copy and back-ups
  • Accounts Payable reports such as batch reports, check registers; cash requirement etc.
  • Accounts Payable vendor file
  • Generate monthly and weekly Commission check run.
  • Perform general accounting tasks and other special projects as required.Sales and Use Tax:
    • Organize, plan and prepare all required sales and use tax returns and ensure that such returns as well as remittances are timely and accurately filed.
    • Prepare journal entries related to sales/use tax.
    • Coordinates with the Distributor Services Department on issues regarding sales tax and presents resolutions of these issues to the Accounting Manager.
    • During sales tax audit, prepare schedules required by auditors, coordinate and assist in the resolution of tax issues.
    • Reconcile sales and use tax accounts and maintain proper documentation to support internal controls over processes.
    • Research sales and use tax issues.
    • Maintains file for Resale Certificates.Qualifications:
      • BS Degree in Accounting or related field.Competencies for Success
        • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment and complete assigned work within time constraints.

          • Meets deadlines Experience
            • Recent college graduate with a degree in accounting encouraged to apply.
              • Proficiency in the use of Personal Computers and Software Applications including, but not limited to, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Gmail, and Internet Browsers.
