This is a leadership role with responsibility over an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. The Controller position is a full-time opportunity in the Pasadena, Texas region.Your responsibilities in this role- Ensure client satisfaction by reviewing deliverables of self and team- Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible- Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required- Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies- Act on items beyond formal job responsibilities- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly- Give executive committee and partners monthly financial reports- Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll- Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection- Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management- Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysisFor more information please contact Kayla House @ Kayla.House@roberthalf.comJob Requirements:- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment- Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills- CPA/MBA preferred- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)- Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines- Strong attention to detail- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued- Microsoft Excel experience highly desired- Command of month end closings- Proficiency in Job Cost- Solid understanding of Qualifications Bachelors Degree- Payroll experience- Proven knowledge of NavisionRobert Half Finance & Accounting matches skilled professionals with remote or on-site jobs in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more on a full-time basis.
